About
The Full Story
Graduating with a degree in Physiotherapy from Kings College London in 2020, I went back into full time NHS work during a time when people were struggling to breathe. At that time I didn’t include myself as one of them.
I continued to work on wards, intensive care & paediatrics, leaving the NHS full time in April 2022. In hindsight I was completely burned out, dysregulated and working in a system that was perpetuating a cycle of stress and dysfunctional breathing, which negatively impacted my health.
Starting to question everything I had been taught & what was seen as ‘normal’, I chose to focus on my own health and inner world, realising that what we & society perceive as ‘normal’ is actually anything but that.
Spending the last year in psychotherapy & experiencing a variety of modalities, I've been able to practice & use tools to regulate myself, my breathing and my nervous system.
There are many modalities available and breathing repatterining for me has been one of the most useful. Focusing on mindfulness & meditation to calm my thoughts & anxiousness, with an underlying dysfunctional breathing pattern, was quite difficult.
Re-patterning our breathing can have a profound positive impact on our health; physically, psychologically and emotionally. Personally, it has given me a sense of slowness, calming & quieting my mind. In moments of uncertainty and stress, I now feel safer in my body and able to settle my breathing. On top of all of that, I am also sleeping better, waking feeling more refreshed and generally less anxious and worried about life.
This is where The Breathing Way began. Providing support, guidance and the tools to re-pattern your breathing for a more fulfilling, improved quality of life. The best part of it all is that you have that power within you. You have the ability to change this. The question is are you ready to...
